1. Commercial Standard Transactions

For selling goods or services:

• Domestic (UK+Islands): 2.90% + £0.30

Note: PayPal UK does not have a separate lower rate for Invoices. They use the standard rates above.

What about Friends & Family?

"Friends & Family" payments are free for domestic transfers (GBP to GBP within UK). For international transfers, there is a 5.00% fee (Min £0.99, Max £2.99). This payment type offers no buyer protection and should not be used for purchases.

Is there a Currency Conversion Fee?

Yes. If your transaction involves a currency conversion (e.g. receiving USD into a GBP account), PayPal adds a 3.00% margin above the base exchange rate.

Are fees refunded on returns?

No. If you issue a full refund to a buyer, PayPal retains the fixed fee portion (£0.30) and does not return the percentage fee you originally paid.
